Extracurricular/ Career Enrichment ProgramsCo-curricular Activities
Morning WorshipThere will be a morning worship at 9 a.m. in Room No. 106 on all days except Wednesdays. The staff and students who wish to attend are welcome. Value Education classesA 30 minutes session will be arranged once in a week in the schedule for value education classes. Arts, Sports and GamesThe College offers all facilities to every student who desires to develop their faculties in arts, sports and games. In order to ensure the participation of all students, house wise competitions will be held. The participation of each student in these activities is compulsory. Tutorial SystemEach student of the College will be assigned to one staff member who will advise the student about her problems. The purpose of the tutorial system is to build up and maintain close personal relationship among teachers, students and parents. It is expected that the students as well as their parents keep in touch with the concerned teacher. National Service SchemeTwo Units of the National Service Scheme has been functioning in the College. The N.S.S. aims at education through community service. It is intended to arouse the social conscience of student community by preparing them to be useful to society by active involvement in Community service work. NSS Volunteers volunteers have assisted the nearby villages in cleaning campaigns, health awareness programmes, construction of roads, etc.. National Cadet CorpsAn NCC Subunit ( 7 (Kerala) ) Girls Battallion NCC started functioning in the college from 2000-2001 Alumni AssociationThe major activities of the association include the establishment of a harmonious relationship between the student's and their Alma mater. On the Republic Day (January 26), the former students meet is arranged in the college. This year the Association proposes to give life membership to its former students there by ensuring their active participation in the activities of the college. PTAParent Teachers Association assists the college in the various activities. Development of the computer laboratory and the library are the priority areas identified by the Parent Teachers Association for the year 2000-01. College HostelA hostel meant exclusively for the students of the College is functioning in the
College campus. Those who seek admission in the College hostel should get separate
application form Career Guidance and Information CentreA career Guidance and Information Centre (CGIC) is functioning in the college. The Centre provides opportunity to have information regarding courses and career prospects. The Centre will be arranging coaching classes for the students to enable them to participate in the competitive examinations and to face interviews with confidence. Photocopying CentrePhotocopying facility is available at the College office Counselling CentreA counselling centre is functioning in the College. Students and their families can avail themselves of the services of the centre. Remedial CourseA grant of Rs.3 lakhs was received from the University Grants Commission (UGC) for the conduct of remedial course for the students of weaker sections of the society. Remedial programmes for English, Hindi, Malayalam, Mathematics, are offered for 66 students. Special programmes on computer applications to the level of Diploma courses is designed and is offered to these students. Training for career advancement and course identification is also being offered. |
